Best Dressed at the Oscars 2011

These are my top looks from the 2011 Oscars. There was a lot of beautiful fashion on the red carpet last night! The show, overall, was very predictable, but I was happy to see Natalie Portman go home with the best actress Oscar for her incredible role in Black Swan.
So, for my best dressed, you may recognize the first 2 dresses, as I chose them as some of my favorite looks from Elie Saab and Givenchy Couture. Mila and Cate's dresses were some of my favorite from fashion week and I think both ladies pulled them off effortlessly.
From top: Mila Kunis in Elie Saab, Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture, Michelle Williams (or is that Mia Farrow?) in vintage Chanel Couture, Halle Berry in Marchesa, and adorable 14 year old Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa.

Best Dressed at The Indy Spirit Awards

My pick for best dressed at the Indy Spirit Awards is Jennifer Lawrence in Dolce & Gabbana. The outfit is breezy and pretty, perfect to transition into Spring.

Dream House Part 7: The Reading Nook

Part 7 of my dream house is this little reading nook. I think it would be the perfect place to curl up on a rainy day to read and sit by the fire. It's a little bit Moroccan inspired.

The Shrimp

Since I mentioned her in a previous post, here is Jean Shrimpton. She is a 60's icon. Her eyebrows are amazing. Perfect arch.

Colorful Cottage

How great would it be to be surrounded by this much color? It's like a dream cottage in the woods. It may a bit much for some people, but I think it's pretty and fun.

Swan Lake

With all the buzz around ballet lately, I remembered my days as a little ballerina. When you're a little girl it's ok to wear a tutu in public, but nowadays I will just have to stick to Ballerina -inspired outfits.

London Fasion Week: Burberry

Christopher Bailey was supposedly inspired by Jean Shrimpton also known as "The Shrimp" (one of my favorite models ever) when he designed this collection. Random fact about "The Shrimp," her sister, Chrissy, dated Mick Jagger in the 60's but he dumped her for Marianne Faithfull.
I have to say, I expected a little more, the collection was slightly disappointing. However, some of the jackets were incredible and I loved the fit of the flared slacks.

Miracle in a Bottle

Ouidad Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel actually works! I read all the reviews on Sephora and people loved it so much, I decided to try a sample size. If you have curly hair, this makes a big difference in overall texture and frizz control. I think it will work very well in the summer as well.

Mick and Marianne

Marianne Faithfull is my number 1 fashion inspiration. I think Mick Jagger and her may have been the most fantastic couple ever.

London Fasion Week: Mulberry

Maxi-skirts are making a comeback. I think the most flattering way to wear a maxi skirt is with a very well fitted top and belt the skirt with a skinny belt at the waist.

Dream House Part 5: The Kitchen

A combination of these two kitchens is my dream kitchen. The kitchen is one of the most important elements of a home. I love kitchens, and a state of the art kitchen would sell me on a house. I'm noticing a theme of white in my dream house and I'm thinking it may need to be built in Oregon judging by the beautiful scenery in the first photo.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger is in the new movie, Unknown, with Liam Neeson and Mad Men star January Jones. This means press tour! Which means new and wonderful outfits from her everyday. You know I can't get enough. I thought she was excellent in Inglorious Basterds, so I'm excited to see her new movie.
