Shopping Cures the Winter Blues

Here are a few items to get you excited for Spring. Even though it's still in the 30's here, I have started getting very excited about wearing breezy little dresses and skirts again. The thought of wearing florals and bright colors again have perked me up. Here are a few of my must-have items to cure the winter blues (from top:)

I love the look of a long-sleeve mini-dress, and this would look fantastic paired with beige booties to transition into Spring. Crushed-Rose mini-dress by Leifsdottir at www.anthropologie.com

Earrings are my favorite way to change up an outfit. They add bohemian flare instantly. These earrings are gorgeous. East Lake earrings in Evergreen by Amrita Singh, available at www.amritasingh.com

Nothing goes better with a pretty little dress and earrings than a pretty little cocktail. This delicate crystal glass is perfect for sipping a Kir Royale. Platinum Petals Coupe by Anthropologie, at www.anthropologie.com

This cream crochet dress is very 1960's. It would look great in the Spring with a pair of earrings and some wedges, and perfect in the Summer with just a tan and some flat gold sandals. Lace Flippy Tunic at www.topshop.com

Products Worth Noting

Winter wrecks my skin. I'm talking flaky, dull, and miserable. I know many other women have the same problem, so I thought I'd share two very amazing products.
First, the Clarisonic. I know I'm a little late on this one, but I got one for Christmas and I'm in love. It r makes your skin so soft and there is a visible difference. The Clarisonic is available at many beauty stores such as Sephora and Ulta. I got a Mia which seems to be the most convenient model for travel and it stays charged for up to about 20 uses. I purchased mine at Macy's.
The second amazing product worth noting is this truly incredible cream called CeraVe. This cream is the most moisturizing product I've ever used. I have tried everything for my super itchy, dry legs and arms. This is by far the best cream ever. Available at Walgreen's.

My New Year's Resolutions

1.) Give up turkey and chicken. My personal reasons for this are more about how disgusting industrialized farming has become. I don't want to support it in any way, and it's certainly not healthy. I'm not officially a vegetarian yet, I don't know that I could ever give up fish.

2.) Visit New Orleans. I have always to wanted to visit and this year I need to make it happen. I'd like to stay at The Roosevelt New Orleans, and I can't wait to have a drink at the Carousel Bar.

3.) Start planning a trip to Costa Rica. I haven't traveled outside the country in so long, I'm going through adventure-withdrawals. I have never been anywhere tropical before so this would be something completely new and different. My goal is to at least have the tripped planned and paid for by the end of the year.
